John has been involved in Pleasant Prairie "politics" for the past 2+ years. He is running for Village Board Trustee #3. The election is April 7th, now 8 days away.
John is so dedicated and talented that I want to be just like him some day.
This upcoming election, as a matter of fact ALL ELECTIONS are very important.
So please get out and vote on April 7th.

Rich, you're absolutely right that all elections are important. It's shocking to me that spring elections - which often include a great number of local races - don't get more voter turnout, considering the tremendous impact local elected officials have when it comes to things like taxes, schools, etc.
ReplyDeleteI hate saying this, but it seems to me that many people are just fat dumb and happy.
ReplyDeleteI have a very brief experience in local politics. I got fired up about an issue, I "got informed",,,,but when i tried to share my passion with family and friends I quickly saw what seemed to be either complaceny or a love/zeal/rigidity for the status quo....whatever it is, it resembles a lack of political will for change.
So big ups to anyone that tries to swim against that current. All candidates have my respect in that regard.
Prairie Family Days is a great family and most especially a great KID-friendly event. Anyone that saw the faces of the kids while they played on the inflatable slide and inflatable bounce house knows how much fun the kids had.
ReplyDeleteBut here’s a fact to consider: On December 15th, 2008 Trustee Allen voted against prohibiting alcohol at Prairie Family Days. In the minutes of the meeting he is quoted as saying that he voted against this because not only was it negative, but also because it eliminates the opportunity for alcohol.
I think alcohol would change Prairie Family Days. Yes, there is a time and a place for nearly everything, including alcohol at other public events, but I’d like to keep the “Family” in Prairie Family Days. I’m voting for John Roscioli for Village Trustee #3.
